OLD GAMES BASEMENT

Privacy Policy

EFFECTIVE 2026-08-01 · PLAIN-LANGUAGE DRAFT — NOT LEGAL ADVICE; REVIEW BY COUNSEL BEFORE LAUNCH.

1. What we collect

Your email address and display name, because the Service needs an account. Ordinary server logs — the pages requested, times, and IP addresses — which is how a website stays up and stays secure. Nothing else about you is collected, and there are no advertising or tracking cookies here.

2. Your shelf and your saved games

The games you add and the saved games you make are stored so the Service works. They are private to your account: not published, not listed, not shared with other members, and not offered to anyone else.

We do not read your saved games. A save is stored as opaque bytes and the server never opens it — it is handed back to your browser exactly as your browser produced it. We do not build a profile of what you play or sell anything to anyone.

One technical detail worth being straight about: when two members hold a copy of the same game, the Service may store those identical bytes once rather than twice. That is a storage economy and nothing more. It does not let either member see the other, learn that the other exists, or reach anything of theirs.

3. How we use it

To run the Service, sign you in, send you transactional email — a password reset, an address confirmation — and keep the Service working and secure. We do not send marketing email.

4. Who else touches it

The Service runs on one server and uses a small number of providers:

Analytics and error reporting are self-hosted on our own infrastructure rather than sent to a third party. We do not sell your data, and we do not share it except as listed here or where the law requires it.

5. How long we keep it

Your account data and shelf are kept while your account exists. Backups are taken nightly and expire on a rolling schedule, so for a period after you delete something a copy may still exist in a backup before ageing out. Server logs are kept only as long as they are useful for operating the Service.

6. Deleting things

You can remove a game from your shelf at any time, which deletes its stored bytes and its saved games. To delete your whole account, write to privacy@brightwingsystems.com and we will remove your account, your shelf and your saves, subject to the backup window above.

7. Where you are

The Service is operated from the United States and your data is processed there. Depending on where you live you may have rights to access, correct, export or delete your data — ask at the address below and we will do it.
